When I am boarding an airplane, just as I step in, I take a moment to look at the construction. The aluminum work reminds me a lot of the crafting of a Cunningham. Given Charlie's background in aerospace engineering this isn't a surprise. However, many aren't aware of another connection to fast, beautiful crafted aluminum machines. Charlie's father, Bruce, was an airman and a winner of the Thompson Trophy Race. By good fortune, some pictures of that young airman, and his flying machine, have surfaced and are reproduced for your enjoyment.
