This Racer #008 was owned by a keen aficionado of Marin's hand-crafted bikes and it is an amazing example of Charlie's work.  The parts on the bike are are interesting combination of old and new.  For example, the Shimano Deerhead components and old-style WTB rollercams are contrasted with the later style WTB greaseguard hubs.

As fortune would have it, when this bike was being "refreshed" at Black Mountain Cycles in Point Reyes (something of a reincarnation of the classic Point Reyes Bikes where Cunninghams were sold) the original shop wrench who build #008 walked in and exclaimed, "hey!  I built that bike!"
